Warm November predicted for the Algarve
Although the seasonal rain cannot be avoided, (November is, according to climatology, the second rainiest month of the year), and it is well received by the agriculture sector after the extremely dry and hot Summer, November is predicted to be warmer than usual.
Meteorologist and coordinator of Meteored Portugal, Alfredo Graça, has presented the latest update of the ECMWF meteorological model for mainland Portugal and predicts November to be characterised by temperatures slightly above average but without extremes.
The average temperature in the Algarve in November is around 17°C (63°F). The average daytime temperature is around 22°C (72°F) and the average nighttime temperature is around 14°C (57°F)
The first trends on the precipitation maps suggest rain levels around the monthly climatological reference average for November, with the month most likely starting with the same atmospheric pattern as the last two weeks of October.
The month of November is expected to be characterized by a positive thermal anomaly, both on the Mainland and in the Azores and Madeira. This means that in general, November 2023 will be a slightly warmer month than usual.
