D2 – Entrepreneurs and Self-Employed Professionals – for individuals intending to establish a business or carry out self-employment professional activity in Portugal being essential to present the company incorporation documents or service contract along with proof of financial means.

D3 – High Qualified Professionals – for professionals with higher academic qualifications and job offer for technical or scientific positions of significant relevance, being essential to present proof of qualifications and job offer.

D4 – Students – For the enrolment in higher education programs, curricular internships or recognized exchange programs. It is necessary to present an enrollment certificate from a Portuguese educational institution and proof of attendance.

D6 – Family Reunification – Allows entry and residence of family members of resident permit holders. It is necessary to present marriage/ birth certificates and proof of family relationships.

D7 – Income Holders/ Retirees – For individuals with a passive income from abroad (pensions, rents or investments). Essential requirements are to provide proof of sufficient financial means, income documentation and proof of accommodation in Portugal.

D8 – Remote Workers/ Digital Nomads – for professionals working remotely for companies based outside Portugal. It is necessary to present proof of a monthly income higher or equal to 4 times the national minimum wage and an employment contract with foreign company that specifies the possibility of remote work.
